How do I get a FIDE ID? Play in one of our FIDE tournaments and fill the registration form and we’ll take care of it for you. Alternatively, you can contact USCF and request an ID as well. However, to be officially FIDE rated, one must play five games against previously rated FIDE players, score at least a half point in those games, and have a performance rating of at least 1400.

USCF monthly ratings used for pairings. Default late forfeiture time is one hour. Re-entry is available for half the late fee price.

Tournament Policies:

Refunds: A player can receive a refund up to 1 hour before the tournament start-time. Players that no-show do not receive a refund. No exceptions.

Playing Up: Players can play up to the next section if their US Chess Rating is within 150 points of the next section. Players may also use their FIDE rating after converting it into a USCF using the following formula. US Chess rating = ( 180 + 0.94 × FIDE if FIDE ≤ 2000) OR (20 + 1.02 × FIDE if FIDE > 2000)

US Chess Membership: An Active US Chess Membership is required unless you are a Titled player with a FIDE ID #.

Supplies: Boards, clocks, pieces, notation sheets, and pencils all provided.

Titled Players: FM+ play free! Email info@texaschesscenter.com to register as a master .

Capacity: Limited to 102 Players.
