Camp Levels

  • Beginner Camps

    US Chess Rating: Unrated-199
    A beginner chess camp is designed for players who are new to the game or have limited experience. The camp focuses on teaching the fundamental rules, piece movements, and basic strategies, such as controlling the center and piece development. Players will learn how to checkmate, avoid common mistakes, and understand basic tactics like forks and pins.

  • Intermediate Camps

    US Chess Rating: 200-499
    An intermediate chess camp is designed for players who already have a basic understanding of the game and are looking to improve their skills. The camp focuses on enhancing strategic thinking, studying common openings, and mastering tactics such as skewers, discovered attacks, and tactical motifs. Players will also explore concepts like pawn structure, advanced checkmating patterns, and endgame techniques.

  • Advanced Camps

    US Chess Rating: 500-899
    In our Advanced Chess Camp, kids who have participated in tournaments and have a US Chess rating of 600 or higher will further develop their skills with a focus on advanced tactics and strategies.

  • Expert Camps

    US Chess Rating: 900+
    Our Expert Camps are for students who actively participate in tournaments and have a US Chess rating above 900 or a Chess.com rapid rating of 1000. Students will study variations in openings and endgame strategies appropriate for their rating level.

  • Proration

    Students have the option to join a camp at any time at a prorated rate. Please note that early bird discounts do not apply to prorated pricing. Contact us here to join at prorated pricing.

  • Snacks

    We will have a designated snack period in the middle of the camp sessions for students to enjoy their snacks, we will also provide 1 snack and water per 3-hour camp session. Please let us know if your child has any allergies during registration.

  • Awards

    The camp concludes with a ceremony starting 15 minutes before the end of the last day of camp. Families are welcome to attend, allowing them to witness their child receiving earned awards.

  • Refunds

    Full camp refunds are available until Thursday at 11:59 pm, before the camp week. We reserve the right to dismiss students from camp due to repeated disruptive behavior, and in such cases, refunds will not be issued.

  • Pictures

    By registering for the camp, parents grant permission for their child to be photographed or filmed for promotional purposes. If parents do not wish for their child to be included in promotional materials, they need to inform us in writing during registration.
