Date: Every Saturday, 1:00pm - 6:00pm
Format: G/30;d5 | 4 Rounds
Sections: Open, U1400, U800
Playing Up: Allowed for +$10 if the monthly rating is within 150 points
Prizes (all guaranteed):
Open | 30% of Total Open Section Entries (20% for 1st, 10% for 2nd)
U1400 | Trophies 1st, 2nd, 3rd
U800 | Medals 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Sections are automatically chosen according to your US Chess monthly rating. Unrated players (or invalid/mistyped US Chess IDs) are automatically entered in the lowest section.
If you have a valid reason to play in a section higher than what the monthly rating would suggest (e.g. a player with a live rating higher than the threshold for the next section, an unrated player who is proveably stronger than the lowest section, etc.) then detail this in the signup form.
The final choice of the section is TD discretion.
Tournament Policies
Registration Cutoff (Online and In-Person): 12:45pm
All registrations made after 12:45pm will be given a 1st round bye. No exceptions.
Refunds: A player can receive a refund until an hour before the tournament start time. Players that no-show do not receive a refund.
Playing Up: Players can play up to the next section if their US Chess Rating is within 150 points of the next section. Live may also be considered.
Titled Players: NM+ play free! Email info@texaschesscenter.com to register as a master (US Chess 2200+)
