Intro to Chess

Never Learned Chess.
Students who select this rank will learn how to move the pieces, understand checks and checkmates, master castling, and grasp other essential rules of the game!
Pawn

Know How to Play.
Students will delve into concepts such as pins, forks, and other basic chess tactics at this rank.
Knight

Understand Basic Tactics.
Students will enhance their tactical skills through the exploration of Outposts, Batteries, Discovered Attacks, and various types of positional play.
Bishop

Understand Advanced Tactics.
Students will advance their skills by learning more sophisticated strategies and tactics.
Rook

Play Tournaments Regularly.
Targeted at students with a US Chess Rating of 650-999, this rank explores further intricacies of the game.
Queen

For Expert Scholastic Players.
Reserved for students with a US Chess Rating of 1000 and above, this rank delves into advanced levels of chess play.

Proration

Students have the option to join a camp at any time at a prorated rate. Please note that early bird discounts do not apply to prorated pricing. Contact us here to join at prorated pricing.
Snacks

Yes, we will have a designated snack period in the middle of the camp sessions for students to enjoy their snacks, and we will also provide snacks for them. Please let us know if your child has any allergies.

Awards

The camp concludes with a ceremony starting 15 minutes before the end of the last day of camp. Families are welcome to attend, allowing them to witness their child receiving earned awards.
Refunds

Full camp refunds are available until Thursday at 11:59 pm, before the camp week. We reserve the right to dismiss students from camp due to repeated disruptive behavior, and in such cases, refunds will not be issued.
